There are 4 TCP1-related sequences/haploid genome--1 expressed and 3 pseudogenes. One pseudogene maps to 7p14-cen, another may to 5. The expressed sequence shows most homology to mouse; all human sequences are more similar than to mouse.
Insert encodes 3 sequences. Shows about 90% homology with mouse sequences and determines an amino acid sequence showing about 98% homology with mouse protein.
The mouse and human TCP1 ORFs both encode polypeptides of 556 amino acids which are 95.5% homologous.
Detects mRNAs of 1.7 kb (major) and 2.4 kb (minor). Differences are apparently due to polyadenylation.
